Large Black pigs

Seaview Park farm raises Large Black pigs – a rare breed of pig that originated in England. We have chosen this breed as they well suited to the outdoor environment. They are excellent foragers and make the best use of pasture of all the pig breeds. They have large litters with outstanding milk production.

The Large Blacks have very long, lop ears that partially obstruct their hearing and vision. As their name suggests, they can be large with a very wide body and have black skin and hair.

This particular breed is much appreciated for its succulent taste and eating quality; it is superb as pork but excels when traditionally cured as bacon, salami prosciutto & capocollo. All our pigs are raised outdoors and are only fed the best quality pig specific mixed grains and seasonal produce such as apples or potatoes.

Currently we have four pure-bred sows and two boars and are looking to expand.

All our breeding stock is registered with the Australian Pig Breeders Association.

Selection of gilts for breeding – available from 10 weeks old to a few months old gilts.
Price from $200 depending on the age.
